I don’t know how you got the impression that I’m outraged because I’m not. If you will notice I didn’t respond with insulting words, as you used for me. I had a feeling that you probably worked in a court by the way you attacked me.

So lets get realistic here. I live in Illinois, where it is the law to display a front plate. I would say that at least 90% of the Corvettes here do NOT use a front plate. Most cops don’t inforce this as they don’t inforce many other trivial laws.

As you know the court system is overloaded dealing with real crimes, and dealing with trivial infractions like front plates is a waste of everybody’s time and money.

So I’ll ask you this: Do you ever break any laws, such as speeding or not using a turn signal to change lanes if there are no other cars around you, or any number of minor infractions? Most conscientious performance car owners will exceed the posted speed limit from time to time under safe conditions.

In summery, I would suggest choosing your words a little MORE carefully when standing on your soapbox.

Appreciate the great dialogue as usual. Thought there was a previous post where someone cited that Mid America had a way to use both. Recent email traffic from them states differently.

Sounds like the bottom line is I must choose between either surround or clear plastic cover.

For now I will probably keep the plate under the passenger floormat and toss on dash if necessary.

Thx

A lot can be learned by reading what someone writes.

Almost everyone would say that someone who misrepresents facts to a court of law would be foolish. You did misrepresent the facts. Someone who acts foolishly is a _ _ _ _.

By the way, print out your messages and look up the misspelled words.

Thank you teacher for pointing out the error of my ways. And I'll try to spell better in the future.

BTW, maybe I'm having an acid flashback or something. Is this the Corvette forum or the spelling forum?

Jeezzzzzzzzz give it a rest

Default Front plate

I have a very nice chrome plate over my club tags and it looks great. My other vet has the spiral gray smoothie plate and that looks great too.

Hey Tom. You can find painted smoothie surrounds at West Coast Corvettes or Mid America Motorworks, for about $65. It will be painted your ex[I]act color, and I have a mag red with clear coat - it matches perfectly. As I live in Hagerstown, I know we're a little less likely to get busted on this (PA and WV don't require front plates), but I had a little cat n' mouse game with a sheriff a couple of months ago that made me decide to run the front plate. Hope this helps. - AD

I bought a Sebring Silver smoothie from Mid America. It's a perfect match to the car. It looks pretty good.

You think a front plate's an appearance problem on a C5, on the C6 it's a nightmare.

In an effort to reconcile the StevieB and jsdanehy "debate" here is the C6 plate mounting. What an after thought!!!!

We should all play nice

I have to go now, I'm gonna cry because I’m so filled with love and emotion.
