Saying Goodbye...Torch Red going...
And saying "Hello" to an '04 Mag red 6speed coupe. 
Watching my 01 Torch red coupe's value plunging by the minute,
I spent the last 7-10 days calling and driving all over trying to
hook up with something I'd be happy with.
My choices were to hold on for a very long time or bite the bullet
and find a new one with the low interest rates.
When the GM 72 month deal was announced, a feeding frenzy is
taking place and the dealers are getting greedy.
So with one last ditch effort, I gathered up all my leads this morning
and made my calls and set out to play the game.
As I stopped in the first dealer, there were only a few 04's left and
none were my choice.
But they had a pristine 04 Mag red with oak interior that someone
just traded for an SUV
with only 5000 miles.
I got excited but not enough to wet myself.
We talked trade in and agreed on a price that we could both be
happy with. They gave me a fair enough price over what I would
be willing to accept on my 01 and they came down a bit on their asking
price too.
I have no idea if they would come down any lower but they did meet
me more than halfway.
Not only that, but I've missed a few deals this week only because I
was sticking to my guns too much.
At least I don't have to buy new tires now. On the other hand, I
have to go another 20,000 miles on EMT's.
I already ordered the CLB and have to strip my car of the added goodies
by next wednesday.
I'm anticipating shifting for real.
