Happen to me all the time while I owned my C4, the C5 owners hardly ever waved (not everybody) or paid any attention to other Corvette owners. The way I looked at it these Corvette owners were not real Corvette people. So expect it. It's going to happen.Save the Wave.>George
I think you hit it right on, they aren't real Corvette enthusiasts, they just happen to own a Corvette. True automotive enthusiasts no matter what there favorite brand is will usually recognize other like brand drivers with a wave or other friendly gesture.
Those that have a car just to drive with no associated driving enthusiasm are just commuters, not drivers if you know what I'm trying to say.
I would not say it is the Car / C6 but just the attitude of the driver. Not to worry, the s**thead represents a minority, as the rest of us don't feel anything but a sense of comraderie with a fellow Vette owner.
If I'm asked what my favorite car is... A Corvette, C1 through C6
Now that I have read some more posts and thought about it here is my last thought on it
This guy was just a jerk looking to get a rise out of us. It takes a special kind of person to do what he did. Hell, I do not give bad signs to ricers or other types of cars that I do not like. I, like most of the people on this forum, are not just Vette Fanatics, but car fanatics and still respect others for their tastes, whether we agree or not. Good Luck to this lonely jerk with a misplaced sense of worth

This is the problem today, GM is trying to go after BMW and Porsche owners and these arrogant babies have NO IDEA what Corvette ownership is/means at all. Just go to the C6 section here and find out for yourself. It really started with C5 I noticed a "different breed" of owner already, now with C6 its only getting worse. As soon as something "new" comes along these people will drop there C6s like hot potatoes for the "latest thing". They are not at all brand loyal owners. Its a shame. Yes there will be a few nice C6ers but the rest of them WATCH OUT!
Hey, not all BMW owners are bad. I loved all my BMW's. My wife just wanted a Vette. So i caved and let her have one.
I like vette's just fine. I don't want a stock vette. She won't let me do any upgrades to her car. She says it is a high school thing to have a loud exhaust. No NOS because it will tear up the engine. I have managed to sneak a Z06 airbox lid and a K&N under the hood. If all goes well, when she goes to Cali for Halloween, I'll do a 3.42 gear swap in the rear......
I'm not suprised really. They are just high on the whole "my car is the newest/bestest thing ever" trip. But, when it comes down to it, they are all vettes and they are all worthy to wear the name. I don't care if it is a C1 thru a C6, I love them all. A true vette person would. And, if they think they'll be top-of-the-heap forever, then they will be sorely disappointed. People who buy the newest vette to fill that elite spot in their hearts will soon find, over the next couple years, that it will fade as their car gets older. Especially when a newer/better (in theory) Vette comes along, they'll be dissapointed in their "special" car. I, myself, love my '99 coupe. I have had many chances to get newer vettes recently, but I saw no point in it. Regardless of the "newer/better" status of another vette, it still doesn't diminish in any way the wonderful feeling I get when I get behind the wheel of mine, or shoot it that quick glance back as I walk away from it in the parking lot. I hope MOST C6 owners have or develop the true Vette attitude.
