Regular tires improve the ride and road noise slightly, but if you get a flat... well, you get the picture.
I ditched my runflats and upgraded to Z06 wheels. When the tires are done, a set of Nito 555RIIs have my name on 'em. But I will be autocrossing the car.

I am going to be a Sunday driver - no drag racing here . Quality, durability, and comfort are what are important to me.
Thank you.
I've had the Kuhmo's for just over a year now and they have been the best thing I've bought for the car. They still have about half their tread left so I'm thinking they will last pretty well (about 20,000 miles or so). I don't do any drag racing but I have been known to push the car every once in a while....

I've had experience with only one of the Kumho models (the Ecsta MX), but it has been very favorable so far. Had them for 10 months, push them hard on occasion and like them very much; quiet, smooth (okay, some minor flat-spotting), grippy, and no apparent wear.
For the money they are a screaming' deal.
Have about 8k miles on my Kumho MXs (non run-flat version). Solid tires.. quiet, grippy, great price.
I am mostly daily driver type but do the occasional track day.. Have not been to the track with the MXs yet but I'm sure they will outperform the EMTs.
I've been running a set of Kuhmo ASX tires for about 4 months on my
2000 daily driver coupe.
They are definitely quieter and smoother than the GY runflats.
And at $800 for the set, drive out, at Discount Tire I think I got my moneys worth.
I found an AC Delco scissor jack at O'Reiley's rated at 1.5 tons that works great, a small compressor, tubeless plug kit, and pair of pliers to pull out some nail nasties, small spray bottle with soapy water to help find a hole if the nail is not still in the tire, hand cleaner, and towel, and it all fits neatly in a bowling bag under the center compartment in the back.
Someday I plan to have a spare set of wheels/tires for some track days,
but I would recommend the ASXs for daily driver-ing and occasional "spirited spins".......
Awesome! Thanks Erkjr. And sorry LeslieK, didn't mean to hijack your thread. By the way, tirerack has the MX's for about $622 for a set and the ASX's for around $506 for a set... (not including shipping)
