Default rear end bolt question

ive been looking at the various forum vendors and ive seen the rear bolts for lowering the rear end vary pretty wildly in price range. Ive seen from $129.99 to $19.99. The ones ecklers sells are 19.99 and are here ( http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?d...UEA6BE7KLW9F90 ), do you think they will get the car just above the rear tires? and do a good job/last the life of the car?

Thanks!

You can get an inch out of stock bolts, and even the high tech bolts used in the car are not more than a dollar each, even $20 sounds like a rip, you just need to know the right material and order them from McMaster Carr if you want them longer I am a big fan of DIY, and no I haven't lowered, I already drag on my driveway

I think I got mine on clearence from Ecklers for $5. You can get the same bolts at any good hardware store. Just a typical mark up for something that is going to be used on a Corvette. Remind me not to go anywhere near some one who is trying to sell them for $129

I copied this out of previous posts - pretty detailed...hope it helps!

Rear Lowering Bolts -

METRIC FASTENERS of CHARLOTTE (NC). You need #931 14x180 bolts and #9021 14mm washers. These are very heavy grade bolts much longer than stock. Their phone number is 704-333-1227 or 800-438-4136.

-OR-

(2) 1/2" grade 8 bolts 7 inches long with (8) flat washers and (2) self-locking nuts(the ones with the plastic in them). This should cost about $10 total.

-OR-

Grade 8 bolts. 1/2-13x6" should work for drops of up to 1"-11/2". 7” works, too. 7 inch bolts 9/16 is the proper size, but they are almost impossible to find, unless you pay the big bucks for the lowering bolts. Most guys are using 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts with the "c" lock nuts, not the nylon locking nuts.
