Active handling system
I wonder if the people on the forum that have this system keep it on or off?I have had my car for almost a year and i hit the button by mistake today and found it had not been on all this time the manual tells me it should be on all the time what do you the people on the forum think on or off..........................Thank you Charlene
Unless I was to do "competitive driving" in which I would hold the button down and put it in that mode, I would leave it alone.... especially when it rains. Nothing like a little extra help in the control department.
I believe you'll find your AH is on unless you turn it off. When you press the button your DIC will tell you whether or not it is on and you'll get a light on your dash.

The only time I take mine out of active handling mode is at the track and an occasional tire barking, spirited driving on the street.
Then I use the competitive driving mode mentioned above.
Default state is ON. Turn it off and you can slip and slide at will. 3rd mode is comp mode, hold button down for 20secs and you can access this mode. Usually leave it alone, ON unless I'm feeling frisky, then comp mode. Comp mode allows you to get a little loose without totally throwing it away. I never turn it off, not a good enough racer yet!!!

Charlene - I consider myself a pretty competent driver, and except for one time - l've left the button alone. As everyone has already said - it defaults to ON everytime you start the engine. You;ll see the amber light with the symboll showing the back of a Vette and two "Patches" (just like the Man's avatar - How many of you noticed that B.T.W.?).
350 HP (gross) can very unexpectedly get you into trouble quick if you aren't paying attention, on the wrong road surface (wet, gravel ,etc.).
My vote is leave it alone unless you're on the track!
Sometimes TC will cut power with wheel spin. Other times it just applies the brakes. Its first action is to apply brakes unless it sees parameters that cause it to both hit the brakes and cut power.
As for Competition Mode it can perform neat tricks if you want to play and can keep you out of trouble a lot of times.
