Magnesium Wheel Weights
Getting close to replacing tires on '01. I have magnesium wheels. Do the stick-on wheel weights cause any damage when removing? Any problems with tire machines during mounting process? thanks

Be VERY carefull of who dismounts and mounts your tires.
You will need to find a place that uses a touchless tire machine for mounting.
Your mag wheels are powder coated and can be damaged very quickly by some idiot who thinks they know it all, to get them refinished it will cost about $250.00 ea. (ask me how I know this)
And make sure they spin the fronts before they lower the car and let you drive away, there are special low profile thin weights that may be needed to clear the front calipers.
I all reality they are no harder to mount and balance then an alum. wheel but it's better to spend a few extra buck to get someone who knows what their doing.
The gummy residue left by the old weights can be easely removed with brake clean and a soft towel.
