Not sure if this is any good, but I ran across this tonight and thought maybe some of you might be interested. This product apparently reverses the logic of the traction control button.

the Laptrax device was designed by a fellow forum member. They had been a supporting vendor, though I haven't seen their listing since the forum software change-over.
I have one on my 2000 'vert and it works well. It is a little tricky to connect the blue wire to the DCIS - takes small hands - but otherwise a simple installation. In 2000 and earlier vettes, it is necessary to stop and hold down the TC button to enter competitive mode. A real PIA. With this mod, I set up startup default as competive driving since my power mods have produced enough extra power to make the traction control kick in whenever I romp on the gas. The nice thing is that there is no delay since competitive mode is now my default start up. A button push adds traction control when it rains - again with no delay. Later model vets may not have the need to hold down the traction control button for several seconds like mine, so the mod may have less appeal. For me, it was worth every penny.
I like the factory system, I mean, it takes a half a second to turn it off if you wish. You usually don't know when you are going to need the traction control and active handling until it is too late anyway. You ALWAYS know when you don't want it though, so just turn it off. I don't see the need for a product like this, I just don't.

It takes 5 seconds to put it into 'Competition Mode'. I drive almost exclusively in comp mode. It becomes a pain to keep turning it off, but whats worse is that when in comp mode that's all you can see on the DCIS. You don't get the rest of your fun information like watching fuel efficiency drop as boost rises.
Just to be able to get rid of the 'competition mode' on the screen makes this worth while for me. I'll be doing it, although with my big hands might need some help fitting taht wire to the DCIS...
Actually I need to have a new alarm installed so will get it all done at the same time.

IF I remember right you can hit the reset button to put the DIC back to normal and this does not turn of the comp. mode.

Just hit the reset button once you're in Comp mode, and the DIC goes back to normal. (BTW, this works for any of the messages on the DIC; e.g. low gas, etc...)
