On a trip to the Central California Coast over the weekend I had a "Low Oil Level" message show up on my DIC. I stopped at a Mobil station and sure enough I was approx. 3/4 of a quart low. I topped it off and hit the rest button but the message keeps popping back up. Is there a reset procedure??
Thanks, Vinny

Keep monitoring your oil level to make sure. But when I got that code, after parking on a very steep hill, it took forever to get rid of the message. For some reason the computer wants to hang on to it. I finally got rid of it by disconnecting the battery cable.

Thanks Rich. I'll give the battery disconnect a try.......

If that doesn't work, it's time for a trip to the dealer
I got the "message" yesterday. I knew I was border line as I check at every fill up. But I'm doing an oil change tomorrow. Why pour a $5 quart of oil down the drain, right?
Well, I got the DIC message. Turned the car off, dumped a qt in, started the car.........
Hey guys. I the exact same problem. I learned from the Chevy dealership that you have to let the car cool down for an hour or so and then the low oil level message will not come on again. I tried re-setting it just like you did and a mile or so down the road, it would come on again. Sure enough, when I turned the car off and started it up in the morning, the indicator did not come on again. There is no need to disconnect the battery as I think someone suggested.
