Recently installed chrome "hoops" behind the seats on my convertible. They look OK but the area of carpeting where the pipes come through. Has anyone come up with a novel idea to trim this area? Perhaps a large 2" grommets etc.
Vettman 1,
Saw the same hoops at FunFest. They had a black plastic ring around the bottom that trimmed off the carpet. Just thought it came with the hoops.

No rings, plumbing loops, etc. Measure twice and cut once and your hoops will look like they came from the factory.
We've sold/ installed many sets and they all look terrific.
I like CB Vettes idea. Looks real good, I'll have to visit Lowe's. I measured twice and cut once, however I should have measures three times. Actually I had to move the bars forward as they were hitting the toneau cover a bit.
some of you guys must have a different type than the ones i got from WCC. there is no way i could just cut a hole in the carpet and have it look like that. i had to cut a slot big enough for the entire bar to stick through, leaving me with a big, ugly slash between the two bars.
i went to a local upholstery shop and had them make some covers that are seemed and slip around the hoops and tuck under the carpet in the back and drape over the carpet in front. cost me about $60 and looks like factory
We supply the Hoops to Midamerica Here is a couple of tips, when cutting the carpet I use a 1.5" hole saw, makes perfect circles, the rubber gromets that we use to trim out the base are exhaust hangers that I cut to wrap around the bar, then "crazy" glue the ends back together, I buy the hangers from Autozone. hope this helps..
