FlowMasters
I finally got the flows on.
They sound great.
I thought my buddy said he had the whole cat-backs, but they were just the mufflers which worked out really well. It only took me 30 minutes to jack the back of the car up a little, cut the stock muffs off, clamp the new muffs on, lower car, and clean up. I will have them welded soon.
One thing is strange, they are only slightly louder than stock at idle, when you're behind the car. They are actually quieter inside the car at idle. They are nowhere near as loud as the stock exhaust when driving and I HAVE NO RESONANCE AT ALL!!!!!! I thought my stock GY run flats were making all of the noise while driving, apparently not, it's significantly quieter on the road now. EXCEPT at WOT, then they scream, much louder than stock.
They do not sound anything at all like any of my muscle cars, and I can't get over how quiet they are. I'm happy with them even though they are not as loud as I was hoping. They can stay for a while.
Hmmm....
I wonder what they would sound like with some long tubes and no cats?!

Thanks,
Cliff

On C4s at least, the Flowmasters were more throaty and rumbled. The Borlas were brash and unpleasant, to my tastes.

It is not a bad mid-range sound.

I have had the later FM's on my '97 C5 for 3 years with various iterations. With stock engine, ATI 7 psi only, 427 w shorty headers, 427 F1R LG LT's & 228 cam on 115 LSA.
Never had resonance, general noise level increases w/LT's and sooner opening exhaust cam, and bigger engine, but I live 1 block from police station and drive sensibly and they never even look at me.
At full song w/blown 427 the sound will scare the alimentary canal excretory eflux out of anyone not expecting such a cacophony!
I don't know the weight of them, but they are big and heavy, that's the one disadvantage!
