Battery question
Before I disconnect my battery to do some work on my car, is there any precautions I need to take?
Thanks

You will probably reset the radio, so make sure you know the security code, if its been programmed.

Reset Code
What if you bought the car and the original owner doesn't know the code? Where do you find it? Do you mean that the radio will lock up and will not operate, unless I know a code?

And don't let the wrench touches the negative post or the chassis while taking off the positive lead. Holy Mackerel Fireworks

Yep,,, it will go into LOCK OUT mode and you will NOT be able to use it! There is a way to unlock it. Look in the owners manual!!

If the little red LED on the left side of the radio flashes when you lock the doors, then the security code is set. If it doesn't flash, then you have nothing to worry about since the code was never set. By default, its not set.
If the security code is set, you can use this procedure in Tech Tips to get a code to unlock it:

The owner's manual procedure is once you actually have the code.

Just know the radio theft lock code if it has been set. That's about all.
