Default CCM Practice Auto X Results

OK. As promised, here's the unofficial results from yesterday:

However, event officials (me) are considering a two-minute penalty and $10,000 fine to OOH YEAH for all the profanity said after he took his car (and MY wheels) into the swamp and had to be drug out by a truck. He did make a big splash impression on everyone, but had to mow the grass stuck on his car later.

Some pics:

While OOH YEAH performs tech inspections we parked my daughter's Celica in front of his car (far right) and cranked up her "boom box" stereo to loosen parts on his car.

JOECOOOL runs the timer and tries to register voters at the same time:

Pre-race conference with I-SPEED:

It was a GREAT day out there, with plenty of laps and good times with everyone there.

One of these days I need try Auto-Cross. How is it compared to running a Road Atlanta or a Sebring?

A lot shorter and slower. Yesterday was a road course event for us which I prefer over racing between cones. But it feels like you are going a lot faster because you're pushing your car to the limits in each turn. You might see 75 mph (officially - or 85mph un-officially) on the longest straight.

Gainesville Raceways is much longer and even more fun. We ran that at last year's CF Winter Jam and had a great time there.

I beat OOH YEAH's time but he was in the swamp more than me. I was in it once, he was in twice. I did catch an 8 pound bass while I was in the swamp. Nothing like a Z06 fishing boat/swamp buggy.

I think I found a couple of crawdads also! What a blast Thanks Cajun for setting it up. I spent 6 hours getting the car to look normal, today I'm working on cleaning the motor and doing a oil change. I pull the Air filter it had grass also stuck in it. I am just glad the car didn't get hurt. Now I wish some one could help me find out why I don't have power to my driver seat and steering colum? Man I don't want to take my car to the dealership.

CAJUN,
Thanks for the up-date! Lawd knows I didn't want to ask about it !

Have any idea why Ooh yeah wants to sell me a set of wheels and tires so cheap? Wonder if his seat doesn't work because he has crabs?

After yesterday, the tires he used are toast. I think his seat suffered a major pucker factor as his car headed for the water. We're trying to find a DIC code for " I'm off the track".

But we all had a great day. I even let my daughter take my car around once (with me in it) and I rode in her car once. She did a fantastic job for a first-timer. I was also lucky to ride in the Ferrari for a lap - WOW. That thing moves, brakes and handles like something else.

Ok CAJUN, I take back everything I said (for this week anyway ). For the life of me I had a hell of a time getting under a minute. Damn A4.

You just had to show me up didn't ya? All this time you haven't broken the one minute mark, then I show up for the first time and you had to beat me. That's ok, at least it didn't take me 50 laps and someone else showing me in my car that it can actually be done. Any chance you've got the average times?

Seriously though, it was tons of fun yesterday. Thanks alot for setting it all up and the invite.

BTW, JOECOOOOL has got one badazz Z06! Love that Magnuson. I-SPEED's got a sweet ride too. Forgot to ask, what kind of exhaust do you have I-SPEED?

Thanks Dave: I'll email the full timer's spreadsheet to you for averages.

Ya done good out there!! When you consider the mix of cars and mods on them I think we can all be pleased. Plus you didn't even use the swamp car wash sytem that others tried.

I'll try to get pics posted/sent around as I get them.

Hey when you pull into a parking lot, with the numbers and MUD on your Corvette, you get a lot more looks than usual! I only used the two wheel skim approach!

I do believe I-Speed is running all SLP exhaust.

I Really guess i Need some practice....56.6 :-( Oh and BTW, I NEEEED NEW rear tires!.. The car started to spin on I-95 on my way home last night, and i found that i was much more comfertable correcting the spin after the day at the Track. Thanks Jim! It was a great day!

Thanks for the spreadsheet Jim.

To be honest, I did go fishing once. But only once and I kept the water out of my boat, unlike some people.

Thanks for the info on I-SPEED's exhaust stangkiller.

I'm still waiting for some more of the pics to be sent.

It was a black 1995 Ferrari F355 like this one....

Hopefully we'll have some videos to post, too.

You would have had a blast, Zilla. Cool cars, cool people and a blast at WOT driving on a road course. I'm getting calls and emails from all over to run another one.

I think next time we'll go for Gainesville. (Longer/faster) But I've got to check races schedules and course availability.

Thanks for coming. You did one heck of a driving job out there. Very impressive. You know of course your car will now be very closely inspected next time.
