Default Vararam VR-2B

Just ordered the Varaam VR-2B from WCC! For $368.00 Dollars I really hope it works! Not sure If I needed to order screens or filters, didn't really say much about that!

One Filter will come with it. You don't really need screens. I don't use them. Had mine 2 years now. Very pleased with it.

The day mine was completed we had one of those heavy Houston rains. I drove 55 miles home in the pouring rain, following other vehicles throwing water froom their tail, and drove in standing water that at times was 2 to 3 inches.

While I was a bit nervous the Vette survived none the worse for the wear. I checked the air intakes when I got home and other than being damp at the front , no real water in them.

While I wouldn't drive through a foot deep puddle I think the concern of getting water in the engine is not a huge issue. Just use some common sense.

Did you install screens from a Z06? If so how are they mounted?

Do you have fog lights, if so how does the screen effect them?

Do he screens have any effect on the amount of air that is going to the intake?

Ron!

Did you use the filter that came with it or did you swap it out for another. After I ordered the system, Shawn from LAPD told me they have better screens than the others but they only come with thier systems and not sold seperately! Should have did my research first!

I got the screens from Mid America,Mounted them with velcro, fog lights aren't affected(actually looks cool through the screens),screens have no perceivable effect on amount of air.I got the install idea fom Patches who knows everything

I have the standard filter which is foam with a screen on it. When you said screens I thought you meant a screen in front of the intake at the bottom of the car like on a Z06.

I installed my B2 about a month ago. (actually owned the car for 16 hours (9 of those was to drive it back) before I started the mod process...lol)

This weekend I ordered a set of Z06 screens from a CF member.. for looks and function (seems like alot of leaves/debris getting sucked in...)

Thanks!

Who's doing the installation for you? A local shop? What'd they charge?

And ... one ad I saw (might've been LAPD) claimed a 40 HP increase with the Vararam ... can you tell any difference?

Does the filter have to be changed regularly, or can it be cleaned?

Is the car louder (mine's plenty loud now with the Borlas ... wouldn't want to add to it)?

There are alot of vendors selling the screens or you can type Z06 screens on ebay and you'll get a handful.

Just becareful, some of the ones on ebay are cheap imitations made out of cheaper material without edging, etc, etc...

Nice mod to do. The filter that comes with it will do just fine. Hope you get the performance out of it you expect.

Here is a K & N that fits the VR1B, I think the filter size is the same for the VR2B but I would check to be sure.
