In the December 2004 issue of Corvette Feaver on page 12 the picture shows a frame raised on a floor jack or lift. I looked at the SnapOn web page and couldn't find the jack. It appears to be one that you can drive the car over and then position to raise the entire car. Does anyone know the SnapOn Model number and about how much it is. Also I guess does it have the capacity to hold a vette say about 4K lbs or 2 ton or so?

Don't know squat about the jack, but if your vette weighs 2 tons or so, you must be carrying lead in the trunk. Mine weighs just a bit over 3k.
I don't know about the snapon one (nor did I see the Corvette Fever article) but is it like this one? This sounds like the description that you wrote. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for responding. I've seen that one. The one from SnapOn that is in the mag appears to actually raise the car 3 or possibly more feet off the ground. Perhaps someone who has corvette Feaver will see what I'm talking about. I don't have access to a scanner now but perhaps tomorrow I can scan and try posting a picture.
What I've learned for what it's worth.
What I saw was called a Scissor Lift. They go for about 1,000 to 1,300 and lift about 3 ton. 2,000#=1 Ton. It is recomended that the lift be sized at 25% more than the intended lift weight. (3,200 * 1.25 = 4,000 lbs or 2 Ton). I also learned that they are really only good for changing the oil and wheels because of the brackets between the sides that get in the way of removing the exhaust, torque tube, transmission and just about everything else under the car except for nuts and bolts. Oh well. It was a thought.
Be well all, even Francis. I say that in a loving way with no malice. Truely.
