My past experience has been 3 pulls for $40-$50 range. What kind of dyno is it and how high will it go. Good luck with it

Here in San Diego, we paid $50 for two pulls with a minimum of 10 cars getting dynoed.

Good luck with your new venture. It is definitely unique.

Are you planning to offer any tuning or just pulls? As for price, $50 for 3 pulls - group rate, at a show or something...

Good luck with your new business venture

I have the same dyno. I would charge at least $75 for 3 pulls.

Sounds like a fun investment, I hope you do well.

Just one tip. I've had my car on several 'in-ground' dynos, and every pull on every machine had it between 300-315 RWHP and 320-330 RWTQ. I did a few pulls once on a portable dyno that showed up at a local track, and their machine showed that I had 265 RWHP and 430 RWTQ I called but they gave me some lame excuse about the other dynos all being wrong because they didn't take the actual weight of the car into account properly, while their machine did. I started asking how I could have 430 RWTQ when the engine only produces 350 at the flywheel, but that conversation wasn't going anywhere quick so I just paid the fee and drove my car back to the parking lot. Anyway, make sure your machine is accurate and properly 'calibrated' or you might not get too many customers if the first few at the event are complaining about the accuracy of your dyno.

Here's the event I'm going to next weekend http://www.dynotech-eng.com/big_guns2.htm

But I think they've got a lock on the open-dyno-day program at this event. Looks proprietary to me.

FWIW, If I'm lucky enough to get on the dyno I'll pay $40 for 2 pulls + $15 for AFR printout.

Sounds like a hell of a good idea ya got there. The mod market seems to be growing and your services may very well prove to be profitable

Good Luck Friend!

When a dyno is set up at most major shows, it costs about $75 for three pulls. Sometimes group rates can lower that, but I would say $50-60 for three pulls would be reasonable.

As of right now I am just doing pulls. But, I do hourly out to speed shops to do there own tuning(most of them like to do their own anyway) I charge 95/hr. Cheaper by an avg. of 40/hr.

Unfortunately there are quite a few guys out there that dont have the technical training needed to operate a dyno effectively and also most of them dont make sure the machine is always in optimal operating conditions. I had mandatory tech. training and and ALWAYS do at least 2 pulls with my car because I know xactly what shes puttin out. Just another safegaurd before I start w/ clients
