Default Halltech Stinger Installed!! (pics)

Well, I actually did it. I am not usually too good doing stuff under the hood. It took me about 2 hours to complete. The install went fairly easy. It does rub the hoodliner and the way I positioned the clamps on the coupler put a hole in my hoodliner. I did not even notice it, my wife did. Tonite I will have to change the location so the screw on the clamp is lower.

I took her for a test drive last nite, and there is much improvement. The car just seems to runs smoother, with less effort, and shift smoother too. I did not do any WOT yet since I want to give the computer time to learn. But I did give it a little and I could notice a difference. The wife even noticed the difference. I did some other stuff this weekend, pics below.

The HallTech Stinger AirIntake

New Z06 Fuel Rail Covers

The Windows Tinted, finally....

Neoprene Seat Covers with embroidered logos

Red lettering for pass airbag

Steering Wheel Decal

That all for now. Trying to get her looking nice for the Ecklers Reunion this coming weekend.

Good job, it looks sweet under the hood. I've been slow on the mods myself due to my lovely wife. We just paid cash for a 2002 QS met vert 6 weeks ago. It took a long time to save. I got Borla Stinger Quads, and chrome plate to finish the rear. And she says "Great now were all done with your MODS no more money!!!" Little does she know were NEVER DONE! Now after seeing and hearing the intake/Z06 red fuel rail covers was'nt to hard to do I've got to get them. So thanks, I'll be in trouble later.

Does the down side of the stinger air filter have the two posts that fit into the stock grommets to hold it in place (like on the Blackwing)?

No, it does not. Neither does the air bridge. I was some what concerned about that but it seems to fit nice and snug.

I thought the Halltech Stinger came with a filter. Isn't that a Blackwing?

That's the filter it came with. It does look like the Blackwing though. I got it from Andy at A&A Corvette, very nice people btw.

Everyone else....thanks for the compliments.

Now, back to the mod wish list, what's next...

That setup is as "snug as a bug" - a perfect fit, so you shouldn't worry at all about its moving.

Congratulations for picking the best intake bang for the buck and welcome to the Stinger club!

I got the tint done at Gator Tint, ask for Shawn (I think that's his name). He is the owner and the installer. It's a little hole in the wall place on Davie Blvd but the guy is pretty good. 954-583-3715 Tell him Jay with the white vette sent you.
