Default Anyone ever cut their shifter

Anyone ever cut their shifter down an inch or so, so it is not so high?

Can it be done without replacing the shifter stem?

Tks
Peace

Works Great. But now I have a Hurst!
It does not rattle. It did in my brother in laws Zo6 he took it out and put in a breathless shifter and I got his Hurst and it is fine in my car.

I did a search and read all the different ways there are to do this. My question is simple, can youjust take the **** off, cut an inch or so and screw it back on, without taking the console apart? what are the problems associated with trying this? **** won't thread down far enouhg? Demon key will need to be cut shorter?

I cut mine past the threads, but wasn't putting the stock shifter back on.

You can rethread them though with the proper tools...

Yup, Toque said he got an old blanket, cut a little hole in it, taped it to his shifter and cut/rethreaded right in the car. Just poped off the **** and went to work....

Good luck

No need to mess with the console, just take the **** off and make the cut. Some folks have cut so low they also had to trim demon key and got rattle and vibrations; take care.

Thanks for the input, I may just give this a try this weekend. As always, this place is a wealth of info! Any reason to even put the demon key back in?
