IMHO with the Hurst 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear shifts are much more accurate - 3rd and 4th come easy due to the stronger centering mech... but 5th, 6th and Rev require a concious effort...
Since I installed my Hurst, I have not mis-shifted (knock on wood).
Even without springs, in neutral it centers between 3rd and 4th. It gives
me more confidence and certainty when going through the gears (up or
down) the stock shifter doesn't provide.
So Am I hearing that a new shifter would be money well spent to help avoid a missed shift? I don;t know if I want to spend the money right now if it doesn't actually help in that. I am not racing (yet) so faster shifts, shorter throws are not hugley important. But I don't want anyone to blow the engine!!
I let my son and daughter drive it.
I hated the way mine shifted stock. Bought a Hurst shifter. Much better now.
