Was looking at an article (down below) and it stated that 2000 FRC's only came with the Z51, 3.42 rear, and MN6 all standard. And only the MN6 was available. Can someone tell me if this is true?

Awesome, one more thing, if I was to get a used C5, how would I know that those options are avaialable? (the suspension and gearing), this is say a coupe...
For Z51, it's easiest to check the RPO sticker in the glovebox door (or under one of the rear compartment covers on older models). It will list Z51 if it has Z51. If the car has a selector switch on the console that says tour and sport, that would be the F45 selective ride option. If neither F45 or Z51, then it's the base, standard suspension.
If you buy an auto car, the choice of gearing was 2.73 (standard), or 3.15 (optional). Look for a G92 RPO on the sticker, which indicates the optional 3.15 axle ratio.

Not that I really care (live in mainly the suburbs) but how much extra gas would I really waste over the 2.73 over the 3.42? I mean is it even noticable?

Thanks for the replies.
Check the car's RPO Label. For earlier model year C5s, this will be on the underneath side of one of the rear compartment lids, ususally the left side lid I believe. For later model years, it will be on the inside of the glove compartment lid.
The RPO Z51 Performance Handling Package consists of the RPO FE3 Sport Suspension and a power steering cooler. Both RPO codes (Z51 & FE3) should show on the label. For the 3.42 axle, the RPO is GU6.
Here's the link to one of the more comprehensive lists of C5 RPO Codes that I have seen.

And thanks a lot! That was a lot of information!
Waste gas? Naah. That 2.73 gear is an automatic gear only. So's the 3.15. The 3.42 only came in the 6 speeds and gets better mileage than the auto. Unless of course you keep your foot in it too much. I average 19-20 in town (lot's of freeway) and 28 on the highway at a steady cruise. Remember that 6th gear? It drops your rpm's at 70 to approx. 1500. HTH
