No offense but I drove the C6 and it is quite a car, but I am going take some of the amount it would have cost to upgrade and send her to Lingenfelter for 500HP!
Mines not going down in value... I still like it just the same. I think they are about to bottom out now. There was such a drop due to the ones dumping theirs for the new C6. Now that it's over I believe the prices will stay. Around here the dealerships got plenty of C6's. Even the little small guy in my neighborhood has three. Makes me wonder if the C5 will go back up in value cause nobody likes the C6.
I have a freind that just bought a C6 and when he saw my 2004 C5 6spd black coupe lowered with CCW 505S, Corsa Touring pipes, chromed engine parts with Kewl covers and PZero's I felt bad cause all he could say was HOLY S--T!!!! Thats friggin !@#$%^&*(WOW!!! The look in his face said it all C- friggin 5
As we all know C5 prices have gone down a lot over this summer. My question is will they continue to go down over the winter. Will they be cheaper now in the fall or cheaper in the spring? Everyone knows sports cars are cheap in the fall. Will they go back up in Spring? It's weird because you see a lot of C5's prices where a 92-96 is priced now with low miles. Sometimes I'm seeing C4's be more expensive then C5's
When will the C5 stop sliding and will it rebound any time soon?
I do not give a rats azz if it goes up or down because if I wanted to make an investement I would have dumped my money in the stock market or somewhere else instead of an '04...If someone is worried about how much their Vette will be worth in the future, they shouldn't buy one...just my .02
nope the prices will continue to fall mainly due to the fact of the high production numbers.
that's why IMHO it was silly to place your car in the garage and not drive it .. it's depreciating in value while sitting there.

I agree with you if I lived in FL, which I do not. I live in Iowa and my C5 is lowered, there is NO WAY I would drive her in the winter salt, ice, and snow. Now that would be silly
What are the opinions on the early C5 prices over the next few months? I am waiting for the 97-00 models to come into my price range. I hope the local market will be "flooded" when the first snow hits :o
I purchased a 98 Quicksilver with 32,328 miles on it for 22,500 with tax title and registration! My car was a lease which is why the milage was low.

I wasn't asking to see what mine would be worth. I was asking to see if I should buy my next one this fall and store it or buy one next spring. I live in Wisconsin. I wouldn't care what my car is worth after I buy it. I do care when I'm going to save money buying it. I think ayone would. So you can have your .02 back.
There are only 2 days of owning a car in which I care what it is worth..
The day I buy It and the day I sell it..
I have my two corvettes and my M3 and I don't plan on selling any of them.. They could be worth 2 cents or 2 million - doesn't matter cause they are staying put.
However, if you looking to get into a C5 this is a great time to do so.. You can get a lot of car for pennies on the dollar!!

I love my C5, I also like the C6. Your average driver out there doesn't know the difference between a C5 and a C6. So for my money, I'm going to drive mine and enjoy it for as long as I can, and if and when the times comes that I can pop for a C6, I'll do it. But the fact is I didn't buy this car as an investment, so as far as prices are concerned, it's no different than any other car I buy. I expect depreciation. This isn't a '67 L88. And if it was, I wouldn't be driving it, and what fun would that be.
Get in it, drive it, have fun with it, and to hell with the value!

Welcome to the position C4 owners found themselves in when the C5 hit the street! Especially watch out for falling prices if the General reinstitutes 0% financing on Vettes!
The only vettes holding their own right now seem to be C3's...They seem to even be increasing. The C3 is a"bayby boomer" car. Most of the boomers grew up wanting a C3.
Unfortunately neither the C4 or the C5 will benefit from that nostalgia craze IMHO
Surely as night follows day, so too will the decline in C5 value (price).
It's the old law of supply and demand and what the buyer will pay. Used car prices are established by big auction operations like Manhiem Auto Auctions. The buying Dealers know what's the hot seller and that's what sets the price they will pay. Unfortunately, with GM's 0% interest and big discounts, lots of Vettes are in the market place.
If the 2004 C5's had stayed at or around MSRP, as an example at $50K for a C5. A similar 2003 used C5 would be 10-15% cheaper or say $44K. But, with a $10K discount on the new 2004, the 2003 now is worth $34-35K and on down for subsequent years.
