Default Lug nuts

Going to raise the car this weekend for the first time. Time for a wheel and well cleaning. Is there a site that can give me a step by step instructions or anyone that can give advise? I have all the equipment with the exception of the torque wrench. I understand that it is 19mm. Is there one that will not scatch chrome lugs? Where is the best place to get one? Hockey pucks or lift pads? Suggestions? Any help and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

unless you have aftermarket lugs, you wont scratch the lugs, or at least i didnt with a normal deep socket.

i have the pucks and i just took the seat part off my jack so it would hit the puck flush and took it up easy.

The stock lugs have plastic caps that unscrew by hand with a scocket. The actual lugs are just regular acorn nuts that are ugly and it doesn't really matter if they get scratched since they are totally covered....

For the rear I use a floor jack with a piece of plywood and lift the entire rear of the car under the diff. For the front I lift each side individually by jacking up the spring close to the wheel.

The torque spec for the lugs when tightening is 100 ft lbs.....

It's a great time to lower when all the wheels are off....

Good luck,
Dave
