Went over a small pothole tonight and got the message ABS active. Don't know what it means. A month ago after going over a bump I thought the car lost power, I did't see or notice any message.. Could these be related. C5 2000 miles Thanks

When you first start the car the Active Handling has to calibrate itself so it knows where the straight ahead postion of the steering wheel is located. To do this calibration the car's speed has to be above a certain level (say 5mph) and it has to be driven in a straight line for a certain distance (say 200 ft). If either of these conditions are not met the system will go into warm up mode until the conditions are met long enough for it to calibrate itself and then you will get the warm up complete message. This happens everytime you shut the car off and re-start it. That is why most people who autocross never get to use competitive mode since it is hard to find a place where you can meet the start up conditions when you are in a line of cars waiting to go to the start line. The variation in time that I see is usually due to turning the steering wheel (for whatever reason) as I move the car.
When I am running an autocross I usually park at the far end of the parking area from the start line and then drive at 7 to 8 mph in a straight line as far as I can before turning toward the start line. While I am waiting in line I leave the engine running.
