im avoiding the three letter B word cause u guys seem to get off track when its posted hahaha.
here's my question. i think its pretty much known that the GM nose mask is the best fitting of any of the masks out there right? well, im probally gonna take the vette for its first real road trip since ive owned it and go from Dallas/Ft worth to austin to visit my girlfriends family on Turkey day and im wanting to prevent more chips that what ive already got by using a nose cover and the mirror covers. looking at my car the leading edge of the hood already has a chip in it as does one of my headlight doors. the GM Br......er....nose mask only covers the front so those places are still unprotected. Colgan makes a mask that actually covers the bumper and both headlamps as well as the front edge of teh hood to right behind the headlight doors. it has seperate pieces for the headlamps so their use is not inhibited but the paint on them is protected. has anyone tried this manufacturer? mid amer sells it as does ecklers....any other suggestions for maximum protection would be appreciated. afterall, out there on 35 everyone knows there are a ton of truckers who drop/kick up rocks and we all know even the Geo's are cruising at 80+.....
I just put on the GM Bra (72DDD Ha Ha) for the same reason. I got it from GM Parts Direct, because they had the best price. I doubt if you'll find anything that will give you really full protection. My windshield looks like it was sandblasted and now I have a star rock chip. You can't win.

Chad - I have the GM "nose mask" . You're absolutely right - it is one of the least expensive and best fitting BRO's (remember that Seinfeld episode?)available.
If you're concerned about chips - maybe you should consider Cleartastic, which is a clear membrane that is held in place like a static cling emblem. Also - some others have a similar product by 3M. I'm sure one of these guys that has either one will chime in with details. The nice thing about both of these, they can be left in place all the time, without the stigma of this sexy black , ahem - BRA ....sorry I couldn't help myself, my favorite catalog is Victoria's Secret!

I've heard the Colgan nose mask works fine. It does cover the headlight doors which the GM does not. Regardless of what you do, the stone chips will eventually appear. You may want to look into the Cleartastic stuff - it seems to protect a lot more of the surface area than a nose mask. As for me, the GM mask works just fine.
