Default Delete Wheel Sensor message. I have Tech 2. Help?

I removed the wheel sensors from my new tires.

I am now getting a warning in my DIC that there is a sensor problem.

I understand this message can be eliminated permanently with a Tech 2 tool.

I have access to a Tech 2 tool, but have no idea how to use it.

Can anyone provide me with step-by-step directions to accomplish this?

I'd really appreciate this as it is impossible for me to get in to the dealer anytime soon!

Thanks!

Rob

(sorry about the double post)

If you have an 97-99 you cant do it. Some folk have had luck disconnecting the receiver unit under the drivers side rear wheel well in the hatch, but most have not. IF it is a newer c5, the programer should walk you right through it

I have a 2000 so it sounds like I am in luck!

Heck, I don't even know what a Tech 2 is.

I just happen to have a friend who works at a shop that has one.

He can get in for the weekend, but neither of us know anything about it.

Where do I start and what do I do?????

This can only be done on 2001/newer cars.

When the Z06 came out in 2001, it didn't have the sensors, or a need for the TPM system, so instead of using a different BCM or program for the Z, they just made the TPM system a selectible option within the BCM..
Prior to 2001, all C5's had the TPM system, so it wasn't an editable option prior to that.

If you do have an 01 or later car, the step-by-step instructions for enabling.disabling the system with the Tech-2 can be found about halfway down this page:
http://www.stopforce.com/RPO.html
Note this shows you how to enable it, but disabling it virtually the same, just toggle the option off instead of on.

I was under the impression the wheel sensor inop. message could be removed from the DIC using a Tech 2.

So if I have a 2000 C5, it is not possible to eliminate this message?

Nope, sorry.

Many people have tried various techniques (including this one) over the years to permanently eliminate this message on the 00/earlier cars, but to the best of my knowledge, no one has succeeded in doing so.
