[Z06] New Z06 owner checking in
The Z is AMAZING!!! I have had it for a week and I still can't get the smile off of my face everytime I drive it.
I got a really sweet deal on it ~34K with 10K miles on the clock, It even came with a K40 Detector
I used to visit the C4 section of this forum frequently and the info here was invaluable.
I am looking forward to participating here
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself
Cheers!

Oh and how about a few interior mods while your at it. Take a look at some of my handy work.
Gauge Bezels from LAPD $85, steering wheel decal from VE $20

Hurst shifter from LAPD for $155 and short shifter and e-brake boots from VE for $110

Center console and arm rests from VE for $400

OEM Z06 fender badge $24 from WCC (just for fun but I like the look and so do my friends)

Just enough to set my Z apart from the rest
Have fun. Now get some photo's.

PS: I'm a former 95 Polo Green coupe and 96 Polo Green vert owner so I too can appreciate the vast difference you are experiencing.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definately be investing in the Hurst, I had one in the 95 and it was awesome...what a difference. BTW how bad is the Hurst install in a C5?
I need to take it slow on the mods, the wife will have a heart attack after just laying out for the purchase, I think someone on this forum said it best,..'HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE' and that is oh so true.
Take care guys and thanks for all the great responses!
Don
As for the ease/difficulty of installing a new shifter...it is very easy! I installed the Breathless shifter, but had to yank it back out, due to an old shoulder injury. It will take you about 1 hour to do it, with only a couple of tools. Hardest part is removing the T-plug that holds the shifter handle in place. If you are thinking about replacing the handle, do it when you do the shifter.
As for hosting pictures, I use Village Photos (www.villagephotos.com). One of the guys from the C4 section turned me on to them. There are a ton of places like them out there too.
Enjoy!!
