Radar gun usage
I thought possibly some LEO's or techies may be able to answer this question. (not quite sure what forum this belongs in)
When using radar to clock a vehicle, are you allowed to adjust the measured speed of the vehicle to account for the cosine effect or are you limited to clocking directly approaching/leaving traffic only?

You cannot manipulate the reading while you are measuring a vehicle's speed.
The only way you can get a reading, other than measuring a vehcile's speed, is to use a tuning fork.
Those only come in speeds like 35, 50, 70, etc.

Even though the Cosine Effect benefits the vehicle being clocked, the radars do not permit any speed munipulation.

Cosine angle only benefits the target vehicle by a lower speed reading. There is no way to manipulate the speed.
