Theother day I was cruising in my 04 coupe with the top off and windows down.....You know.....Just enjoying the vette...

THen I decided to go to the local Checkers to get a K and N air filter....

On the way there you have to ride by this Mazda dealer becase the mazda dealer and checker parking lots are connected...

So Im passing all these sorry mazda's and surprisingly quite a few mustangs....


All the sales men just look at me.....Bu this one 40-50 year old guy walks up as Im driving by trying to find parkin...

He start sayng somthing and being the nice guy that I am I stop an listen to him....

he tells me t get out and check out some of his cars......

I politely tell him that im not interested.....And start to drive off..

Then he yells ahhh come on man just check a few out....

So I stop again and say sorry man but Ive got to go......

So I start to take off again and this guy puts his hand on my front window like he's trying to restrain me or somthing and tells me again to check his cars out...


Im a nice guy but I flip out even when my kids touch my car.....

So I tel him to get his freaken hans off my car.........Then I say..

WHAT IS IT YOU WANT ME TO SEE MAN???!!!!!!!

He points over to a FREAKEN RX8 and a mustang.....

I yell at him and say ...MAN.....IM DRIVING A FREAKEN C5 CORVETTE AND YOU WANT ME TO GO LOOK T AN RX8???????????

ITHEN DRIVE OFF AD GET MY PARKING........

seriously though.........

What kinda sickness is that man......

That would be like me being a chevy slash corvette dealer and a guy rolling by in a new Ferrarri........

And I keep trying to get him to jump out of the Ferrari and look at my vettes......

Man thats not even a good senario sense Corvettes are nice and respected cars around the world....and they have one of the strongest racing historys.....

so yea I could see mybe trying to sell one to a guy in a Ferrari...

But a feaken RX8?????????

A sorry car with no history man...........

Seriously........The Viper and Corvette are th top of the American food chain.......

Te RX8 is like an japanese appetiser or somthing......

Take a deep breathe and relax. Guy is probably desprate to sell a car so he can feed his family. Maybe he's in a rut and hasnt sold anything in awhile. Who knows Just laugh it off and move on with your day.

 

Well, the Viper is a DaimlerChrysler product, with more emphasis on Daimler since they are the dominant partner, so if you consider brockworst part of the American food chain so be it. Ford has controlling interest in Mazda, so the RX8 is more of a hot dog then the Vipper. But still I agree it was insulting for him to think that the Mustang and RX8 are comparable to a Vette.

 

HAHA....so your saying that maybe the government cheese isnt quite enough, i know what you mean i dont like people manhandling my car either.

Believe it or not, as a former car salesman I can tell you that MOST (not all) car salesmen don't know a brake rotor from a baking pan. They really don't. They know option prices and discounts and interest rates and how to pre-qualify buyers, but they really don't know much about cars. Most of them don't have to. The buyer already knows what he wants. What the buyer wants to know is how much is it going to cost to get it.

So it wouldn't surprise me that he would think a rice-rocket and a Corvette were equal.

Besides that, he doesn't get a commission if you don't buy. Whether you are insulted or not is immaterial to him.

 

His actions were totally uncalled for but maybe that is why he is where he was. And by the way, the RX8 is a great little sports car for days when you don't want to drive the Coupe or Z06......I know, I got one!

Since the C6 looks like a smiling Mazda from the front, he probably thought that was what he was selling.

It's Bratwurst, and they're good. The Viper heritagewise does predate the merger. Boy talk about pushy, especially when trying to work out of his inventories class. When I was sellin, and a Viper or Ferrari pulled up (which both did) I asked the driver "you ready to trade up to that Cavalier?" A good laugh was had by all (Yes I recycled the same joke on two people). Ironically the Ferrari driver was in the market for a Chevy(GEO tracker). Although that was not as bad as the guy that did trade in a 96 LT4 collector edition silver Vette for a Cavalier Z24 silver in color. I was scratchin my head on that one for a while.

 

take it as a compliment. since you drive a vette, he prolly thought you can easily afford another toy...

poor guy...

 

Don't feel too bad, he was probably just thinking he could take your Vette in exchange and clear his lot of lawnmowers and sowing machines.

 

Anyone that hasnt riden in a RX-8 would be suprised...My buddy has a SS, C5, and Maxda RX-8. That thing handles has great build quality and guess what....their service department and people are WAY more concerned with the total experience then the screw you attitude most GM dealers have after the purchase..

I prefer my Z all the way but the RX-8 really is a spectacular car and they have the Blitz model with turbo coming out that is supposed to be 360 hp........

RX-8 sure looks ghay as hell.

 

I was looking at a new F250 with the turbo diesel last week and out of nowhere the sales guy tells me these trucks are really fast, in fact it will keep up with a Corvette!!!

I look at my wife and she gives me the "don't do it" look. He was a nice kid, just didn't have a clue.....

 

I have sympathy.

Untill someone touches my car.

 

Maybe he just wanted your opinion, being a car guy.
