Just my two cents... but I never did understand the reasoning of putting a dvd player in a car like a vette. Maybe for the purpose of a car show and the "wow factor", but really why would you want to watch a dvd in a vette? I would also think that an overhead installation would make it about 6" from your head. I am not slamming your idea, just wondering if it is practical.
I own a high end custom audio/visual installation company, Serenity Sound Laboratories.
For a C5 my strong reccomendation is to install an Eclipse Touchscreen Nav system (no pop up screen to block vents and buttons) and if you want additional screens to put them in the sun visors. A Flip Down (or, as it has been called here, overhead) unit is not very practical for a two seater coupe.
just testing the water so to speak ,Ive seen them at the elect. stores on display,I know some people nowadays all try to be different,as far as dvd in vettes,I quess it would mostly be for a passenger on a long ride,or when a family member(we all have 1 of those) likes to shop& I dont & catch a flick.
