There's been a few posts on here about waving. For the other vert owners, if the top is down and you see another vette, do you wave your arm over the windshield instead of the "raise a couple of fingers" salute.
I have found myself waving by sticking my arm way over my head when the top is down. I'm sure I've got to look like an idiot. I guess I just want to make sure they see me waving and not think I'm a snob. (even though half of the time, they don't wave back)
Wave all you can and any way you want!! The only way to look like an idiot is to ram the car in front of you while you're waving to a passing Vetter!! (knock on wood!!)
BTW Pal, I really really really like "(y)our" Nassau Vert w/Black Top!!!
Wavin' from Atlanta!!! Where ALL Vetters wave back when they see you wavin' from your Vette!!
Lately I got no wave back from other vettes. I laugh at myself that they must be new owners. Should we tell GM's salemen that after they sell the Vette make sure the new owner know how to wave.
The other day when I took my wife out for a spin and I didn't get 2 wave back. I told her that I have an idea of designing a CAUTION sticker stick on the visor like the one for airbag. "CAUTION: Make sure you wave at other vette!". That way if your family or friends driving your car, at least they know the rule and wave back. Hihihi

Wave how ever you want!!! I have caught myself doing the same thing, I think it's an even friendlier way of doing it. It also depends on the driving situation with traffic. Sometimes they don't wave back but then you know they either didn't see you or they don't know VETTE history!!!!!
How about when you wave at a Vette coming toward you and they don't wave back (or they've waved but passed you before you could wave back), so you make a U-turn, chase them down, smile and wave, then make another U-ey and back to where you were going.
OK, with top down the regulation wave is right hand firmly on the wheel (steering), left elbow on window sill (drivers side) and arm extended at a 45 degree angle between the side mirror and windshield corner. The left hand must be contorted to a "V" symbol using the index and middle fingers. At this point it should be pointed out that people with short index fingers could have their gesture misconstrued. Then you slowly wave the hand (left hand) from left to right until the receiver is completely past you or if your going the same direction, until the first cramp appears. All other waves from verts should be considered illegal and not be returned.

Safety reminder.
This method is not recommended with the top up!
One hand out if window is open, one hand raised in winshield if not.If the driver is female and really hot, have a small sign ready:CALL ME ###-###-####
