first make sure the ash tray is real clean. I've soaked them in a mixture of hot water and lemon juice. Then I would make sure the leather is real clean.

Take a look at this link - Stinky-Be-Gone and the two different scents might help.....

I try and clean all surfaces real well....including carpet and seats...as the carpet and mats will hold the smell. There is a carpet cleaner in a yellow can (may be called tough stuff) you can spay on and then use a brush on ....good for odors and stains. I have had to do that several times before the smell comes out. Good luck!

Shampoo the carpets, and get in the seats with leather cleaner ... at least twice or three times. If you can, remove the seat skins and check the padding ... that'll hold that d@mn smell! Good luck.

This may sound crazy but it worked. I had a rent house where the renters smoked ALOT. I went in and cleaned it from top to bottom walls, pulled carpet out , I mean everything. After all this we could still smell the smoke, we don't smoke so very noticable to us. I had put it up for sale and the realtor recommened to put pieces of charcol briquets out in every corner of the rooms 1-3 pieces on a paper plate.....in about 3-6 days odor was gone. So maybe one or two under the seats may help!

Thanks for the creative advice (and humor...)

I plan on buying a 99C 5 tomorrow that I have only seen several photos of, and haven't sat in yet. Of course today I'm expecting the worst. "what if it smells like smoke" "what if there are swirl marks all over it". Today is officially taking for ever

A couple of Beer and Hard boiled eggs lunches could help make that cigarette smell go away

Problem is that the smell is, also, in the AC/Heater ducts. After you clean every thing, make sure you spray air freshener in the vents and the air intake at the windshield.

Hey E-T, Haven't seen your posts for awhile. You been away?

Try an open box of baking soda. Works in the fridge.
Good luck.

Along with the seats, mats, carpets......don't forget the visors.
Also an old trick that works with the vintage car guys is to spray some lemon pledge on a clean rag and leave it in the car on the floor out in the sun for a few hours. (try not to get any on the carpet.....it might discolor it)

All good suggestions. Try good carpet cleaner, leather cleaner, activated charcoal, baking soda and Febreeze. The best thing is time. Good luck.
