Last week my wife wanted to take the Vette to work. The people who park around her have already dinged up her Q45 pretty bad so I asked her to be careful about where she parked the Vette.
I was sitting on pins and needles all day. When she got home everything was ok and she had decided she does not like to drive it. She does not like the lope of the cam. She says it shakes too much at stop lights. HURRAY!!!!!
I know exactly what you mean. I have not let her drive it w/o me in it either. It's not that she really wants to. but it may come up. Kind of like your situation. I encourage her to drive it with me in it, just so she can't accused me of never letting her drive it.
I feel your pain. I have actually let my 17 year old son drive mine without me in the car. He's a responsible kid and you would be amazed at how trust opens up communications between us. He actually talks above a mumble after he's driven it! Only lasts about 30 minutes, but that's 30 minutes I don't have to constantly say "huh? huh? huh?" when he talks to me.
My wife won't drive the vette because she knows the rule is that you have to park it out in the south 40 of the parking lot. There's no way she's walking 100 yards to the mall entrance.
But once she's in the mall she'll walk for hours. Go figure. No! Wait a minute. That's my wife.
My wife has driven mine to work a couple times. I guess they don't like it where she works. She parks it right in front of the business. Oh! I forgot to mention, she works at the local Ford dealership.
I bet they play h*ll trying to sell Mustangs, on the days when ol' MAX is settin' out front.
My girlfriend learned the "parking" rules a looooong time ago. She knows how I freak out if she parks too close to ANYTHING or leaves any of our vehicles in the public zone...lol.
You should have seen her when we first started dating... she thought I was a nut. Now, she's just like me.
