I know there have been other posts on this topic but I tried something different. Because it was kind of dark in my car in the carport Ithought that I would need some light to see what I was doing with the hair dryer. So I thought I,ll get my trouble light extension cord and plug the hair dryer into it to see. Then I thought DUH since some of you fellas had to be carefull not to over heat with the hair dryers why not try heating with the light.I had a 60 whatt bulb and I turned the visor to where the bulb would be under it and the heat would rise and it gave good results. I have a little residual glue to get off later but I found you could get as close as you wanted without meltdown whitch is what we want .The hardest thing was using tweesers to get it started.
I really clean off any adhesive I found a .99 can of spray BraClean (yes brake cleaner) works best. It has no oily residue or smell. It seems to work like a dry cleaning fluid w/o the smell. I bought a can at Advanced Auto for .99 cents and have used it on all my buddies cars when we remove visor label’s.

I tried the heat gun with tape method and found it to be really a pain as far as time, 1/2 hour for 1/2 a sticker. Tried Lepage's Contact Cement Cleaner ( water based ) and removed the the balance of the first sticker and the other sticker in 15 minutes. Use a J cloth or paper towels. No heat required.
