Sorry about your accident Daphne. Although relatively minor, it still is not a good feeling. Hope you can make it look decent with the touch up paint.

Many years ago, my girlfriend and I were kissing at a stop light and I slightly took my foot off the brakes. Well, needlessly to say, my car bumped into the car behind us. We were so embarrassed. The driver of the car behind didn't even get out to check his car. He just told us to go ahead.

Crazy kids love...whaddaaya gonna do?

I had a similar problem a few months ago but in reverse!

Pulled up at the lights and the beat up old pick up truck ahead rolled majestically backwards into me!

Stopped and climbed out fearing the worst to be met by a string of unintelligable Spanish. Three guys jump out and push the dead pick up into the side. To my amazement, there was only a small mark on the front plate cover. Not having any Spanish I gave in and drove on.

Glad there's not too much damage to your car and you have my sympathy.

Daphne - do your self a favor, take your baby to a body shop that you trust, and have it fixed professionally. You won't be happy with the fix using touch-up paint, no matter how careful you are.

The other way to look at this is now your car has it's first nick/scratch, the pressure is off. Enjoy your car!

My baby has a lovely scratch and a small nick in the fender! I am very glad that noone was hurt. I would have posted this earlier, but I was very embarrassed! I ordered touchup paint from the Chevy dealer and I will pick it up tomorrow!

Man, if I had a nickel for every "favor" I did for my customers, I wouldn't need to be paid for anything...lol.

Especially if someone shows up with a vette, I'm even more willing to help.

Very sorry to hear about it, but as you said there is no harm to anything but the car, which is a blessing.

Take it to a professional, get it fixed, keep your chin up, and drive on

Sorry to hear about that... best of luck with your repairs.

IMO, only the mean spirited people will use your mistakes against you.. I think we have a good group here that will support you when you are down...

I currently have an internet stalker who reminds me all the time that I was involved in an accident... people like that are straight up loosers and are not worth anyones time.

"Take your car to a bodyshop. If the scratch is deep, they'll sand the area lightly with some 2000-2500 paper, build up the scratch by repeatedly brush touching the spot and then wetsand and buff it.

It'll fill in the spot and be less noticeable than just blobbing on the paint."

Good advice, Body shop can do a great job and no one would ever notice. Good luck.

I was with my wife one day when she was driving and playing in the mirror. wasn't paying attention and car started to roll. I yelled at and make her use the parking brake at lights now so she won't roll. I even find myself doing now to. Good habbit to get into I think.
