Default Headers Question?

Are all Longtube C5 headers Stainless Steel? The reason is, I have seen some that are rusted and such, and wonder if this happens with all of them after use!! I am getting some TPIS, and was wondering if this will happen? I know SS isn't supposed to rust!! So Whats stainless, an what isn't?

Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, not corrosion proof

It will still rust under the wrong conditions.

Many long tures are NOT S/S but Mild Steel. They need Jet Hot Coating or ceramic coating.

Many, if not most, of the C5 headers are stainless steel. Can still corrode, but normally takes a much longer time to do so.

Don't be fooled by header corrosion. If they are rusty on the outside, they are short lived because headers rust from the inside out, just like mufflers, tailpipes, etc. Stainless does rust, especially on the inside of the header. Jet Hot coatings will make a header last up to 10X longer. Stainless is better than steel but the coatings make it much more corrosion resistant.
