Default C5 Headlight Alternative

Has anyone seen daytime running lights converted to headlights so that the pop ups can be left closed? I would like the choice of using or not using the pop ups at night.

Don't see how this would work or be legal. Might want to check with proper authorities before trying it. Good luck.

Also, if anything the DRL's would not be the choice for the use you are thinking of rather the Fog lights would and the PIAA's would be the closest thing to illumintaing enough BUT still illegal.

This is California Law, but your state may vary:

24400. During darkness, every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle, shall be equipped with at least two lighted headlamps, with at least one on each side of the front of the vehicle, and, except as to vehicles registered prior to January 1, 1930, they shall be located directly above or in advance of the front axle of the vehicle. The headlamps and every light source in any headlamp unit shall be located at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 22 inches.

Default Headlights

Try the Euro headlights. I just put them on my FRC and now I can see. Wasn't so bad before when I lived in the city and had streetlights all the way to work, but now I live out in the country. No streetlights at all. The Euros light up everything and I don't get flashed unless I am running high beams. Have fun, Guy

I have seen clear corner lenses that look like headlights when on at night, but they were not bright enough. even with the crappy fogs on you probally still can't see good/

Your Daytime running light are your turn signals or are you refering to your foglights.

And as Zilla said - what would you do for turn signals?

I'd check with your state's DMV and find out if there is a minimum height requirement for the headlights.

Maybe you should consider one of the C5R type headlight package and convert to permanent non-pop ups....
