Default Need advice!

I have been doing a lot searching for a new intake. I have the money and I am ready to buy. I need your advice!

1. Just not get one!

2. Just replace my stock air plenum (air bridge) and leave the stock air box alone. I heard that the stock one is very restrictive and a new one gives at least 12 hpr gain on the dyno. I had a friend that had his done but it was an 02 Z. I think it was called the Vortex power bridge?!

3. Or pick between Vararam, Stinger, TPIS, Vortex?

I have an 04 ZO6 so I will probably get some codes. Which one of these will I have the best chance of not getting codes, and if I do get the codes, is that an automatic tune from the dealer. How much can I expect on paying to get it tuned? Have people been getting lean codes with the Stinger? Sorry to write so much but I have so many questions!? Thank you in advance!!!

Put on a Vararam and a smooth coupler. don't waste your money on an
aftermarket air bridge, as the stock one is fine! Just my 2 pennies.
I have the K&N filter in my vararam.

Air intakes have been debated on this forum thoroughly, I recommend you do a search.

I recently installed a Vararam B2 on my '04 Z, and I have definitely noticed a difference in performance. However, I have thrown a couple of lean left bank codes - once driving around town, and once on the freeway. I cleared both of them, tightened the clamps and have been OK for a few days. I'm hoping the codes were just a by-product of the computer re-learning the fuel mixture with the increased airflow.

If you want my opinion, the Vararam is the best way to go for a CAI. It's certainly not the easiest to install, but I believe it's the best engineered "system" sold for the C5. Everybody whines about the quality, but it seemed fine to me. My beef was the crappy photo-copied "instructions" that came with the unit. If Vararam had bothered to put together a nice little manual, that would've bumped up the perceived quality quotient quite a bit!

Don't waste your money on just an airbridge or coupler. Dollar-for-dollar, a decent CAI is the way to go.
