I changed mine out right away. Got the black "shorty" from Ecklers and put the stock one away. No reception problems at all.....

Took mine off completely and caped it with a shinny rubber plug. Radio still works well. Tend to listen to CD'S mostly anyways.

Bought the short chrome antenna from WCC at the Carlisle show. Looks good and gives good reception. YMMV

I have the shorty chrome also and have no problems with reception..... it's the radio in the car that sucks. I think I've only had it on four times in three years. There is NO base in the system.

Yep did the same thing for the same reason. I lkie to listen to the quad stereo most of the time.

WHere did you guys get this shiny rubber plug you speak of? And, when you say you took it off, did you just unscrew the antenna and take it off or take the whole antenna assembly out of the fender and then plug it?

RICH, I MADE THE SWITCH A THREE WEEKS AGO AND NO PROBLEM. I HAVE A XM SAT. RADIO INSTALLED AND THAT PUPPY WORKS GREAT AND REALLY LOOKS SHARP

GO FOR IT BUT OF COURSE KEEP THE OLD ATENNA JUST IN CASE YOU DON'T LIKE THE RECEPTION
