Warning Tone
Driving home today. Unusually for Vegas it was heavy rain.
Had a "Bong Bong" tone similar to the one which comes on when the DIC flashes up a warning. Couldn't find any warning though.
Anyone had this and can anyone suggest why?
Incidentally, did the leak check on the Vert roof. It failed! I'll be dusting off the advice on fixing leaks!

One thing that comes to mind is the Turn Signal Warning feature. If you have your turn signal on for more than 3/4 mile, the tone will sound to alert you that the turn signal is still on, but you will not see any message on the DIC. It's in the manual on pg 2-41 (2000).

Thanks for that idea. Came off the freeway on a right turn signal and switched to a left, so it wasn;t that.
Thinking about the noise it may have been the tone when the door's ajar. I wonder if it was just some water getting into the door/electrics? Not a problem I hit much in Vegas!

Check the passenger's side floor for water. If the drains are clogged the rain will come in to the cabin there. Keep us posted.

Only time mine has made chiming noises is when something has been wrong. Could have just been a slight glitch in the system, especially if no message was displayed. Just keep an eye on it and see if it does it again.
