I'm going to sell my chrome tips from my Y2K and assumed they fit 97-2000. I thought the only reason they would not go on 2001+ was that they got their own real tips. Hope you (and me ) get some answers.

They've gotta fit. There's no difference between exhausts from 97 to 00. Same metal tips fromthe mufflers. I'm wondering if the fit is just tighter than the buyer was expecting? I know that on a previous exhaust I had to tap the tips on with a rubber mallet - they were TIGHT!

Jack, I don't know if this helps or not but looking at my parts list, the 97-99 mufflers have one part number, the 2000's have another and the 2001's have yet a third part number. I have no idea how this will affect the tips. I agree that all advertised oval tips that I've seen list 97-00. I suppose it's possible that his tips were not stock to begin with.

thanks for the reply guys...i just got another email from him...here it is:

Jack,
Never mind..they were just slightly bent I discovered by looking down the tips. I had to squeeze them in the middle to get them to slide over. I think when you tighten the screws it deforms the oval. No problem now they look great.
Thanks,

There should be no difference between the tips on the two cars. If they fit on yours, they should fit on his.
