Default C5: Year-By-Year Details?

Hello out there in Vette World,

I am currently a 1987 C4 owner with nearly 200K miles. I am looking to upgrade into a C5 soon, and was wondering if there is a thread, list, book or site which categorizes the changes, improvements and issues that each model year had/fixed. Im also open to opinions. Thanks for reading.

I don't know about the threads but I had a '95 and the 2004 I have is lightyears ahead.

Try this: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/

You can check on the differences of ANY year Corvette very easily here.

I use this reference often.

This might be of some help - it seems like a fairly complete list!

I owned a 98 coupe MN6 and was very pleased with it and the performance it had, until I drove an 02 ZO6!!! WOW!!!!!!!!

If you can get the ZO6, it would be more than worth while!! The 01 is a nice car with a noticeable increase in HP &TQ 385 Horse. The 02, 03 and 04 ZO6 are killer cars! All I can say is If I had it to do again I would NOT have changed a thing!!

Well the 97 did not come with HUD, or telescopic steering. The 97 and 98 have two fuel lines where the 99 and up just have one. In 99 you could get active handling. In 2000 there is no passenger key whole, different wheels and a different hatch seal so that less water pours into the hatch when you open it. The exhaust changed in 2001. So if you order headers you will get ether 97-00 or 01-04. In 01 the exhaust tips are chrome plated, I believe that is the year they went to the Z06 intake manifold and they upgraded the active handling to where you can turn it on or off while driving and they upgraded the slave for the 6 speeds. The 03 will use a better type shocks. 99-00 will be the only years for the fixed roof coupes, unless you consider the Z06. All FRC will be six speeds. There are some more differences but that is all the ones that I can think of right now.
