We bought our 98 vert. 20 months ago with 15,330 miles on it. We just hit 22,000 this past weekend. It's a great car to drive! We just don't get the opportunity to use it more often.
My 2001 is not my daily drive because my work commute is almost all stop and go and a M6 isn't much fun in this environment. Mostly weekend cruising. Doing about 1k miles/month. Soon off the road for the winter.
We drive it daily. I say "we" cause it officially is my wife's daily driver, but I take it every chance I get. We have a combinded effort of 9K since we bought it in early July.

How to properly depreciate a C5:
That's Summer '03, all just for fun. '04 summer didn't lend itself to road trips, but I'm quite certain I haven't covered all the roads I'll eventually require
To me, the car is an expense, not an investment. If I were interested in pouring that kind of money into something that would make money I can assure you it would not be a car...
I have a 02 vert which I drive every weekend out here on the Central Coast of California and usually with the top down. There's 17,000 miles on the clock. It's not good to let a car sit for extended periods of time.

So if it's not raining heavily or snow or ice - I drive it!!
In the Grins-per-Franklin equation, nothing even comes close!!
I drive it to work and back every good day that I can.
I have a daily driver but the PermaGrin from the Vette can't be touched!
Owned it for 2 months now and already put 3000 miles on it - and I was out of the country for 2 weeks out of that 2 months!!!
3000 miles of Grins.
I respect those folks under the impression that their cost will be less if they drive the car less. They mask the ignorance with the illusion of "prudence"
I just don't understand the logic
Why the F would you spend so much to enjoy so little
It's mine. I'll do with it as I will. The 'investors' will find out eventually that they do NOT own a collector's car. Just a sportscar built to be driven. What a waste if you don't.
I am not affraid to 8-10,000 miles on my car a year, but it is a third vehicle for me ans just a toy,I work to much and don't get to spend as much time with her as I would like,I probably only get 2,000 miles a year on her
Since I bought the Vette at the end of March, I have put 3600 miles on her. 900 just on the trip home when I bought her. Got to put it away here in the Midwest for winter now. So I would think I would most likely drive it maybe 3000 miles a year average..
120000 on the 97, 158000 on the 85, both daily drivers. Heck, ain't gonna get anything on the trade in anyway!! Enjoy em!
I have driven over 13,000 miles in my 97 in since April 4th; in the six months before April my 85 Z-51 logged over 8,000 miles.
"They sure are pretty."
When I first started looking for my FRC I wanted it to be a daily driver....When I found my 99 with only 42k on it, its in such nice shape that I decided to keep the 96 Impala SS for my daily driver. So I guess the FRC is now my weekend sunny day driver.....
