Can someone please tell me the stock tire size for a 2000 C5 coupe. I have the thin Y2k rims and need to know what tire dimensions to look for when buying my new tires. Any tire input would also be appreaciated.
I'm looking for an everyday tire. I dont go to the track and I dont want it to wear out instantly. However, I dont put many miles on the car per year so I would like some performance. I need a middle of the row tire for a resonable cost. I am looking to get away from runflats due to the noise and hard ride. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Sumitomo HTR Z II are the tires I planned to go with before I bought bigger wheels. I have not drove them but they get good reviews and are very reasonably priced. 255/40-17 front and 285/35/18 rear would be a nice size for stock wheels. If I remember right you could get the whole set for less than 700 bucks.

And remember if you go bigger, you have to have it reprogramed in your computer to accept the new tires.
First I heard of that......How/Who does this? Going to 295's.....is this a dealer reprogram? Something that can be done at the tire shop? On a Predator?
Unless you're changiing the overall tire diameters significantly, no reprogram is needed.
You can if you wish with many of the aftermarket tuning tools, but the reality is a +/- 1/2" rear tire dia. difference will only equate to maybe 1-2mph difference in speedo readings at freeway speeds. The likelhood of your speedometer being off that much to begin with is just as good.
Never had the Kuhmos. When I bought the Car she had the Goodyear runflats. THe car is night and day with the GS-D3s. These are great tires. Good in the dry and great in the wet.
Any more opinions or different tire ideas. Can anyone tell me about Potenzas or Pirelli, maybe they are just to expensive for my needs. Lastly, dose anyone have any more info on the Sumitomo HTR Z II tires.

Hi, these can be purchased at tirerack.com and there are a couple of reviews there.
