Has anybody ever had a horh start blowing and won't cut off? I was backing out of the garage and the horn started blowing and won't stop. I had to disconnect the battery to silence it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I had the horn problem also - went off while parked one time, did not stop until the horn shorted itself and blew the fuse.
I posted here when it happened and one guy told me that the horns get dirty/wet and short out sometimes. My plan was to get a new horn and replace it, and see what happens.
I have not gotten around to it yet. Sounds like a plausible solution to me. Let me know if it works before I get to it in ~Jan probably.
I was backung out of the garage, wheels were turned to right at first, but straight when the horn started. It was continous. I shut the engine off and restarted, thinking it may have been something with the alarm. No help. Calling the Dealer first thing tomorrow.
If it's a stuck switch in the steering wheel, the dealer will tell you the airbag assembly will need to be replaced (about $700). The horn switches are imbedded in the wheel airbag pad assembly and not serviceable.
But it is possible that your problem is due to a short somewhere down the circuit - maybe after the CLB install the wiring harness wasn't routed properly and got clipped.
