Annoying DIC message

Default Annoying DIC message

My DIC keeps alerting "Low washer fluid" since picking it up from the body shop yesterday. The tank is full . The left fender and wheelwell and front fascia were replaced and I'm wondering if anything they did could be causing the problem. When I first picked it up the "coolant level" alert was showing as well but that has ceased. I have reset the alert each time but it continues. Not terribly serious in the grand scheme of things but ANNOYING! Anyone have any suggestions?

It could be that these two tanks are not level. There is an easy procedure for checking and correcting but I'm at work right now and don't have my shop manual handy.

Could be they failed to reconnect the fluid level switch in the coolant tank - either that or the switch itself is stuck. It connects at the back of the tank.

I'd check the sensor at the back of the tank (towards the fire wall on the bottom). Could be loose, disconnected or going bad.

This is what the connection looks like at the rear of the tank. Everything feels tightly connected.

The sensor is not orientated the right way, the little black tab should be on the bottom. Unplug it and turn it so the clip is on the bottom, there is a float sensor in there and it has to be that way, don’t ask how I know this!

Ok, I'm an idiot. I pulled out the plug - fluid spilled out. Where do I need to unplug it?

Okay. The white plug turns freely without pulling it out. I've reoriented the clip downward. Turned the car on, no alert so far but it didn't always come on immediately so I don't know if it's fixed or not.

unclip the little black tab

as long as the clip is down its good! now restart the car and you might have to reset the message and refill the tank!
