I have Mallett's that a kind of pewter color (which match my car) but really want ot go polished/chrome. Anyone strip their wheels? Difficulty? Time? Someplace that will do it for $? I'm in the St. Louis area if anyone has any ideas. Thanks guys
i stripped stock waggon wheels and polished 1 wheel, it was beautifull looking, but it probably took me abuot 20 hours no less of polishing. I gave up and powdercoated the wheels...I don't know about chrome dipping though...Good luck, i want to see pictures! I've seen the mallet wheels they look great!
Thanks, stangkiller. I was following a thread on the Z06 forum a couple of months ago, and the guy took like 14 hours on one wheel, also. Never found out what happened after that, though. I really, really like the Mallett design, too. I'm ot sure there's a design out there that would make me switch.

I think that Corvette Mike in California offers chroming services for wheels. There are probably more vendors that do this that advertise in various Corvette related magazines.
After you polish the wheels, you'll have to get them clear coated...Unless you've got weeks of time to spend on the wheels, or find somebody to do it for cheap, The wheels can be done with a dremel, but it's very hard to keep from scoring the aluminum. Given the choice between polishing and chroming, i'd chrome next time
