Door dings, Your kidding right.
Have you checked what your doors or rather the whole car is made out of. Your not going to ding a door on a Corvette, you may chip it or worse crack it but no dings
But the paint can chip and with a severe impact, the composite can crack.
The optional body side moldings would be a wise choice in your situation, as replacing or repainting the molding strip is a very minor job compared to reparing/repainting the door itself.
I live in an apt complex. Bought a heavy car cover and keep it on the car, but somebody still got me....maybe. Small chip in door which also could have been from stone while driving it . But I bought my car to drive and enjoy and am not going to obsess over every little swirl mark like some of the guys. Life is too short. Thought about putting on the side moldings but I don't really like the look of them.

I really don't understand how you ever get door dings on a Corvette. I used an 88 coupe as a daily driver and never looked for a special parking space. After 130K miles there were no door scrapes or dings on either side of the vehicle. So I guess the molding did the job well.
I have 56K miles on my white Corvette and it also has no door dings or scrapes. Maybe the people parking next to me were considerate, LOL.

Not much you can do if the spots are close together. You have to rely on other people being careful. Best you can hope for is an end spot where only one side of the car is potentially exposed. However, the panels will not ding, just scrape the paint.

I agree with you 100%! I removed my BSMs the second day I had my car. I just didn't like them, and I don't want to obsess over keeping the car 100% free of flaws. I drive it every day and am going to drive it in the snow too. I just love this car too much to leave it parked in the garage. It's a car and it's meant to be driven! Someday I'll be posting on here about how I passed the 200,000 mile mark and the 300,000 mile mark, and so on.

Just accept the fact that your'e going to get some minor scratches/chipped paint and expect it. Then go out and enjoy your car.
Or...
You might consider buying (if possible) or at least renting a small house that has a garage. Around here, the rents on small houses and decent sized apartments are not that far apart... I think the peace of mind for your car would be worth it...
