I never told him about the last step.
6, Remove foot from brake
I was thinking by only giving him steps 1-5 would have insured safety for everyone around.
I currently drive an Acura MDX that i share with my dad..he uses another car. I wanted a more subtle car like the new TL. I'm just WONDERING if you could still do nice burnouts with an Auto Vette. I never said i'm going to be doing burnouts and donuts everytime I get the chance. I love the Corvette because of American Muscle. I have many friends who are irresponsible, drive fast, and corner fast..and I think it's stupid and they've gotten into many accidents because of that. The only time I would want to race my Vette is on the track. I'm very responsible when driving..why else would my strict parents allow me to get a Corvette...
Light foot on the brake until the rears are free, then it's just a matter of feathering the gas (no reason to keep it mashed)
For what it's worth, you're asking the right questions... suppose we all wondered the same things at some time in our lives... but you have to admit some of them are pretty common sense ones. Maybe you're wishing you could take a couple back after having said them outloud

I'm guessing that causes the vette to launch hard and makes the tires spin a lil right before?
That's an auto Very nice
Thanks everyone for the help! I'm gettin prob. a '99 Vette around my 18th B-day (Jan. 10). I want a Red Vette but might end up with a white one because there are a few that I'm looking at..
Is there anything about the Manual that I couldn't do with an Auto? The only reason I would get a Manual is that it could be more fun and is faster but the A4 Vette is already very quick.
LOL..17 figures. Amazing how so many parents dont have better ways to spend their money. Another C5 ruined.

I have a revalation...get a job and buy your own Vette? I will never buy my son a Corvette, especially when hes 17. Talk about irresponsible parents.
don't do burnouts or dounuts...sure its fun and its tempting when everyones looking and everyones telling u to lay a patch or smoke em etc...but save that money and do some upgrades to the vette...tires are expensive...upgrades will make ur vette different and even more fun good luck with it...i got mine when i was 17...and sure i did burnouts...but ive realized its a complete waste...learn from others mistakes

Yea..oook..I have 2 jobs. This summer I had one job and earned about 7 grand. Birthday and Graduation is coming up for me and that's another couple grand. I'm also gettin the car because I'm graduating with honors, ect.
I wouldn't want to do burnouts all the time or at all because I wouldn't wanna spend money buying new tires either..it's internet so I don't have to listen to all your crap stereotyping..maybe you guys just don't read.
Just cause I ask if Auto's could still do burnouts, doesn't mean that I'm going to go out and do it. I could ask what's the top speed of the corvette if I didn't know it's 170+mph..that doesn't necessarily imply that I'm going to try to hit that top speed...It's a damn question

Hey BurgerKingFlipper22 - My Grand Prix is an automatic, and I have driven long enough to get it to do a burnout... The Corvette will do an even better one though!

we've all been young before. you're asking about burnouts because you're going to do burnouts. you're asking about doughnouts because you're going to be doing them (who does doughnuts anymore???) eventually, you will want to get on a freeway and do you favorite mario andretti imitation....because you are young and immature. everyone here is frowning on the behavior because it is dangerous. this car is faster than you are capable of handling. we see kids killing themselves on city streets far too often here in atlanta because they have fast cars and immature minds. be carefull and try cruising the vette instead of making it a spectacle for all your frineds (by doing doughnuts).
I too bought my corvette for burnouts, when i was 17....Or lack there of...If i wanted a burnout car i would have bought a straight axle car like a Camaro, I bought the Corvette so it would hook and run, and because i was not interested in spinning tires, that's just far too immature, and these cars are waay to easy to get away from an inexperienced driver way too fast.

You sound like some of the kids I knew growing up in the 60's. Most of them wound up with their Corvette wrapped around a pole or tree in less than a month. Suggest you start with something a little less powerful than a Vette and work your way up.
