Had cut down my stock shifter and put on the stock **** and the height was good. Then I put on an after market **** that I liked and now the height is higher than original. I don't think I can cut any more of the shaft off.The stock **** is lower than the after market ****.Is there anyway to further modify the the shaft to make the new **** sit lower? LT
I have the exact same problem with mine....Im not real crazy about this shift ****, but it came with the car....Hope someone out here has an answer for us....
Yes, you can thread the shaft further down by using a tapping die. I will be doing this to my shifter shaft next weekend and will post the procedure/pics on my website in the "Corvette Corner" section. This will be "Stage I", whereas Stage II will be the installation of a BPP shifter sometime after Christmas.
