The check engine light on my dash came on out of the blue! So I ran the DIC diagnostics and the code came up "10-PCM 1 code". I cleared the code by pushing reset, but how do you actually get the code number from the diagnostics test?
BTW, I have a 2004 Z16. thanks.
The DIC will give you the full code, don't remember which key you have to press off the top of my head. Maybe you just let it scroll through them all the first go-round before you get to manually sift. Been too long.

You have to be in manual diagnostics. Manual mode will be entered after automatic mode ends and it can also be entered during the automatic sequence by pressing any button except "E/M".
When in manual diagnostics select a module by pressing the options button to go forward or the trip button to go back. Once a module is selected the DTC count for that module is displayed. Press gauges and fuel to scroll back and forth through the DTCs for the current module.

That's where i was, in manual mode and only got the readout as stated. I would like to know the actual problem code number.

You did not go into the individual modules. Read my last post again.

You have to use the fuel and gauges buttons to read the codes listed under each module. I updated my last post in an effort to make it clearer.
So that I understand, once you are in the manual mode and in the module you want, by pressing the fuel and guages buttons the DIC will display the problem code number?
